Strawberry Aqueduct Collection System Model (2020-Ongoing)

Precision has partnered with Central Utah Water Conservancy District (CUWCD) to create a RiverWare® accounting model to track water through the Strawberry Aqueduct Collection System (SACS), Strawberry Reservoir, and Starvation Reservoir. Water from several subbasins in the Uinta mountains is collected by the SACS and stored in Strawberry Reservoir, which can deliver water downstream to Starvation Reservoir or to the populous Wasatch Front through a trans basin diversion. The model will replace a complicated series of spreadsheets as the principal tool for monitoring account storages, administering agreements and operations, and tracking transactions such as deliveries, diversions, evaporations and spills throughout the systems. An interactive, web-based application is being developed with the help of CUWCD to allow staff and eventually customers to enter information into and view results from the model.
