New contract with the Colorado Authority of Utah

We are thrilled to announce that we have signed a new contract with the Colorado Authority of Utah to continue the development of the UCRAF suite of models.  We are once again partnering with Follum Hydrologic Solutions of Casper Wyoming to develop models for the Ashley Creek, Brush Creek and mainstem Green and Colorado Rivers all the way down to Lake Powell.   We are very grateful for another opportunity to partner the Authority.  Successful projects are always a team effort and we could not ask for a more knowledgeable and responsive client.  We look forward to two more years working on this exciting project.

Colorado River Authority of Utah Work Continues

Precision is continuing its work with the Colorado River Authority of Utah to evaluate conservation methods across Utah's portion of the Colorado River Basin. Central to this effort is the Utah Colorado River Accounting and Forecast Decision Support Tool (UCRAF-DST), developed to assess and compare conservation activities within the Basin. The tool features an Esri ArcPro-based interface that quantifies consumptive water use, models reductions to that use, and simulates the resulting flows to downstream destinations, including Lake Powell. This engagement is ongoing through June 2027.

CUWCD Continued Support

Precision is continuing its engagement with the Central Utah Water Conservancy District through June 2030, providing professional services focused on evaluating the District's water management capabilities. As part of this work, Precision will develop and maintain RiverWare models at short-, mid-, and long-term scales, delivering state-of-the-art tools to support the District's operational and planning needs.

Precision Team Rafting Trip!

Precision hosted our fifth annual company gathering with a day on the Colorado River, guided by two of our very own team members! The water was smooth and the sun was bright as we bonded as a team and celebrated a year of hard work. We look forward to the coming year!

Precision welcomes Buck Coors to their staff!

The Precision Team is thrilled to have Buck Coors join us! Buck received a B.S. in both Statistics and Finance from the University of Wyoming. While studying at UW, Buck served as a summer intern for Precision where he became interested in applying statistical methods in the water resources field. After graduating, he rejoined Precision bringing statistical and data science expertise and a desire to grow his knowledge in other areas of water resources engineering. Welcome Buck to the Precision team!

Precision welcomes Amber Spriggs to their staff!

The Precision team is very excited to welcome Amber Spriggs! Amber received her BS and MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri – Columbia, with emphasis in water resources engineering, and a graduate certificate in Geographic Information Sciences (GIS). Her MS thesis focused on GIS-based analysis of water-related natural hazards and environmental justice. After her MS, Amber worked as a guest researcher on a Fulbright fellowship at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. We are thrilled to have Amber join us in the work we do at Precision. Welcome Amber!

Precision welcomes Troupe Coors as a Summer Intern!

Precision is glad to have Troupe Coors join the team as a summer intern. Troupe is working his way through his bachelor's degree in civil engineering at the University of Wyoming. He is excited to learn more about water resources engineering as he decides which career to pursue after college. Welcome Troupe!
