Precision is pleased to announce that Todd Vandegrift will be joining our staff as a Water Resources Engineer. Mr. Vandegrift received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and an MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota where he focused on Water Resources Engineering with a minor in Natural Resources Science and Management and a post-baccalaureate certificate in Stream Restoration Science and Engineering. He has a wide variety of experience in many aspects of water resource modeling, and he specializes in river and reservoir system modeling. We are excited for the expertise he adds to our team of engineers and are thrilled to have him at Precision!
TROA Begins!
After nearly three decades of negotiation and preparations, the Truckee River Operating Agreement (TROA) has been enacted in the Truckee basin in California and Nevada. Precision, in association with the TROA Planning Office, has been developing the technical tools for over 10 years that are to be used to implement the historic agreement. The TROA Administrators Office is tasked with implementing TROA and Precision is working with the Administrator to coordinate scheduling, backward-looking accounting, operations, forecasting, and coordination with all of the TROA parties.
Precision Begins work for Reclamation’s Eastern Colorado Area Office
Precision has partnered with the Eastern Colorado Area Office of the United States Bureau of Reclamation to support model development and usage in the Frying Pan Arkansas project as well as with the Colorado Big Thompson Project. These are two of Colorado’s largest and most prominent trans-basin diversion projects. Precision is excited to partner with the ECAO to develop, update, and utilize several new and existing RiverWare models, as well as work with stakeholders, to better manage the waters and perform important analyses in two of the state’s largest and most historically significant water projects.
PWRE welcomes Dr. Michael Coleman to our staff
PWRE is pleased to announce that Mike Coleman has joined our staff. Dr. Coleman comes with a wealth of experience in academia and in the private sector. Dr. Coleman will be taking over support of the Colorado River Mid-Term Operations Model (MTOM), as well as the Colorado-Big Thompson modeling effort.
PWRE Contracts with the Truckee Meadows Water Authority
PWRE has Contracted with the Truckee Meadows Water Authority in Reno, Nevada to support TMWA’s ongoing operations, and planning for the future. TMWA provides drinking water to over 385,000 residents in the Reno/Sparks metropolitan area. PWRE and TMWA have collaborated on a number of projects over the past decade, and have developed a very productive relationship. This relationship was formalized with a first contract, which includes development of technical tools to assist in future system operations and planning. PWRE is very pleased to welcome TMWA as a client.
PWRE teams up with HDR, Inc. to win Truckee River Hydropower Feasibiliy Project
PWRE is pleased to be subcontracting with HDR, Inc. in Reno, NV to conduct the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe's hydropower feasibility project. HDR brings extensive experience with hydropower feasibility analysis, and PWRE brings our knowledge of the Truckee River system and modeling tools to make an ideal team to perform this study. The study will be conducted through the summer and fall of 2015 resulting in recommendations and a detailed report in early 2016.
Andrew Gilmore joins PWRE
PWRE is thrilled to add Andrew Gilmore to our staff. Mr. Gilmore is joining the team to manage the HDB project. He brings a wealth of experience with HDB, as well as with water resource system modeling and operations. He joins PWRE on a part-time basis after long stints with the Bureau of Reclamation in Salt Lake City and in Loveland.
PWRE Wins the Bureau of Reclamation's HDB IDIQ Contract
PWRE has been awarded a five-year IDIQ contract with the Bureau of Reclamation to support and enhance the Hydrologic Database. PWRE will be supporting HDB installations in four of Reclamation's regions with on-call support as well as ongoing development of the database and its many associated components. PWRE is excited to bring consistency, excellence, and visibility to HDB and the HDB community within Reclamation.
