Demand Management Pilot Project (2024-2027)

Precision is collaborating with Jacobs and other team members on behalf of the Colorado River Authority of Utah (CRAU) on the Demand Management Pilot Project (DMPP). The DMPP is designed to test the application of Utah Code in quantifying conserved water, as confirmed and evaluated by CRAU, through a structured process encompassing application, approval, implementation, and verification for producers seeking to reduce agricultural consumptive use under a state program.

Precision contributes key technical elements to this process, including the development and evaluation of methodologies, assessment of risks associated with storing conserved water in reservoirs, and analysis of conveyance losses as water moves through the system to its designated storage destination. Collectively, this Pilot Program is intended to establish a replicable framework for a fully developed conservation program within Utah's portion of the Colorado River Basin.
